SECRETARY REPORT:  Minutes approved as presented.

 

TREASURER REPORT:  Financial report was not available because all records are being held by the accountant for tax purposes

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: A new committee has been formed which will be lead by Brianna Price and Kim Gillenwater.  James Dalton announced that we will continually allow new members a few minutes to introduce themselves and what they do, and with that Stanley Keys from Chase Bank was introduced as a new member.  Please pay your dues via the new website.  Next meeting will be at the Yorktown Nazarene Church, though breakfast will not be regularly available. 

 

WEBSITE –THE NEW WEBSITE IS LIVE www.yorktowninchamber.org – The website is running very well and all members should visit it as soon as possible.  In particular to PAY YOUR ANNUAL DUES.  New members may do so by clicking on the Join Now button, and all previously paid members will have the chance to renew by signing on to their profile.  A notice is going to arrive via email on Thursday. 

 

TOWN UPDATE –   Council meeting was last night.  Additional paving coming to sections of Tiger Drive, 500W, Jackson, and River Rd to repair from the harsh winter.  Façade Grant applications are due by May 1 as part of the downtown action agenda

GUEST SPEAKER – TERRY MURPHY, VICE PRESIDENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT – Terry presented information from the 2011 and 2016 Vision Programs.  There are multiple ongoing projects and leads at all times.  An impressive list of successful developments was presented.  The most comprehensive resource for all public information is at  www.muncie.com 

 

CITIZEN OF THE MONTH:  Carolyn Grieves for representing the chamber at the town appreciation lunch – Executive committee for Riley Danceathon – Arrick Garringer from Windmill Marketing for website redesign

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS/ANNOUNCEMENTS –  A presentation was made to Gene Gragg to thank him for his service to the chamber.  Four for the Fourth is seeking sponsorships as well as registrations.  Full info available at fourforthefourth.weebly.com  The town work appreciation lunch was held recently and was very well received by the town employees.  Eva Kor presentation is April 3 at 4:00 at Emens.  Town of Yorktown endowment applications are due by May 1. May 3 is Dan’s Fish Fry at Nazarene Church.  April 25 will be opening night of Yorktown Farmer’s Market.  Yorktown Kiwanis will help with taxes one more time on the 27th at the library.  May 4 open house at Waters of Yorktown.  Farm Festival is at the fairgrounds today and tomorrow.
